SAVAGE THUNDER by Floridawn Lewis - CHAPTER 5

He took her left hand and slipped the ring on her ring finger. “Just try it out, until you say ‘yes.’ If the answer turns out to be ‘yes,’ we’ll get married on New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas.”

“I don’t mean to be a killjoy, Marc, but that’s short notice.”

“Well, it’s the only time I have available before the tour starts. Sorry,” he told her with his puppy-dog face.

“Vegas at New Year’s sounds great—if my answer is ‘yes.’”

He secretly thanked the heavens and then said, “Yet, here we are. Still just friends.” He untied the belt from around her waist and pulled on it.

He was happy to see April wearing a pink spaghetti-string top, her nipples perky and hard, showing through the fabric. She was also wearing a pair of white bikini underwear, and he could see her wiry hair matted through the cotton material. She was small and slim and smelled of baby powder and sunshine and he wanted her desperately. Without the makeup. Without the pretense. Without the giggly school-girl attitude, most women had for him.

He pulled her even closer and he licked behind her ear, whispering, “Let’s go to the bedroom, my love.”
