The dogwoods swayed in the wind as April took a sip of her raspberry iced tea. Draped in a wispy turquoise-colored Bohemian-styled dress, barefoot in the September heat, April then put her drinking glass down on the glass patio table. Her mind wandered in a melancholy fashion. She wanted her husband back, desperately. She thought back to the time when they ate lunch on his balcony one Sunday, several years ago, all moon-eyed. Her desire for him to take her up the spiral staircase to their canopy bed, and make love until the morning light, began to tug at her heart. The distance from him was becoming unbearable.
